Does Face Yoga Work? The Most Common Mistakes
Over the years I have received thousands of questions about how effective Face Yoga really is. The first thing to make clear is that what is known today as Face Yoga works for very, very few people.
There are three reasons for this:
1- Simple facial massages
These bring some benefits, such as stimulating blood circulation and mobilizing and draining fluids. However, without enough contraction and relaxation movement at the muscular level, combined with activating the bone structure of the face, we won’t achieve a lasting result that is visible to ourselves and to others.
This is easy to understand: if we go to the gym and only do stretches and the occasional massage, the muscle won’t tone up or change in volume. We need to use weights or apply enough resistance to contract and relax the muscle at a deep level. That’s when we’ll notice a real change. The same goes for the face. If we truly work the facial muscles in depth, the change can be very noticeable.
2- Using miracle creams
Many of the techniques associated with Face Yoga insist on using creams and cosmetics. Far from being a solution, this is a waste of energy, in both time and money. Cosmetics have no ability to rejuvenate or firm the face; some creams or oils can simply provide hydration at very superficial levels of the epidermis.
3- The most important thing
Besides performing Face Yoga correctly, we need to switch off collagen slowdown programs and get our body to start running regeneration processes, and to do that, these processes need to be activated from a deeper level. This is the most important part, and it is perfectly possible, simple, and can be done from home. That’s when we’ll notice a visible and lasting change: we’ll put time on our side and look better and better every week.
I explain more about this process in the following interview:
